Dirty Fingernails Say A Lot: A Celebration of "Pure" Printmakers.
Exhibition dates: July 28-September 15, 2006. The Foundry Art Centre
celebrates the skill and patience of artists who, in an age of
seductive high speed solutions, still prefer to work up a sweat and
get their hands dirty. Printmakers are welcome to submit up to three
works for consideration. Images may be representational, abstract,
or non-objective. Only original, hand-pulled prints will be
considered for inclusion. Awards one "Going Solo" or $1,000 cash,
and one Group 4 Award. A maximum of three entries per artist for
jury may be submitted with a non-refundable fee of $35. One
slide/jpeg/ per entry or submit a CD. Use jpeg on PC format only.
(Do not use photo shop or other software to submit.) Applications

The Camera Club of
New York announces its 2006 National Photography Competition.
The competition is open to all US residents 18 years or older except
members of the Camera Club of New York or their families, and
employees. Freestanding pieces will not be accepted. We are most
pleased that Antonin Kratochvil renowned photographer and
documentarian, will be our Juror. Each entry will consist of either
6 digital entries on CD or 6 slides with a fee of $35.00. Chosen
artist will receive a one-person exhibition in our Alfred Lowenherz
Gallery and a cash award of $300. Other finalists will participate
in a group show. Send self-addressed stamped envelope for prospectus

CALL FOR ART FOR
THREE EXHIBITIONS The Arlington Arts Center, a leading
contemporary visual arts space in the Metropolita Washington, DC
area, is accepting applications from artists living in the
Mid-Atlantic States (VA, MD, DC, WV, DE, PA) for the following
exhibitions: New Art Examined: Works by 2006 Masters in Fine Arts
Graduates from the Mid-Atlantic Region. Any artist working in any
medium who has or will receive an MFA in 2006 from a institution in
the six focus states is welcome to apply. Deadline May 1, 2006.
Exhibition Dates: June 13-August 5, 2006. Remix: East-West Currents
in Contemporary Art. Any artist in any medium in the six focus
states is welcome to apply. Works must demonstrate cross-cultural
influences between the United States and Asia/South Asia. Jurors:
Debra Diamond, Coordinating Curator of Contemporary Art,
Freer/Sackler Galleries of the Smithsonian Institution; Claudia
DeMonte, Independent Curator, NYC and professor Emerita University
of Maryland; and AAC Curator Carol Lukitsch. Deadline: May 20, 2006.
Exhibition Dates: August 15-September 30. SOLOS 2007. Any artist in
any medium living in the six focus states may submit proposals for
solo exhibitions during 2007. The AAC has seven galleries including
two experimental galleries designed for installation, technological,
or other works involving a complete environment. The grounds
surrounding the AAC can accommodate outdoor sculpture. Deadline July
1,2006. Reduced or waived application fees where applicable.

- Projekt30 is taking
submissions for its 27th publicly juried exhibition, scheduled to
open August 1st, 2006.
We are an artist-run arts organization dedicated to promoting
emerging artists. The exhibition will include thirty artists;
invitations will be sent to over 50,000 galleries, collectors, and
fellow artists. All artwork submitted will be presented online prior
to the exhibition so visitors of Projekt30 may help select which
artists will be included in the July Exhibition. Visitors have the
option of contacting any participating artist with feedback or
opportunities. Unlike other juried exhibitions, all participants
receive some exposure. Opens: August 1st, 2006. Fee: $35 for up to

- GLOBAL MATRIX II,
International Print Exhibition.
Dates of exhibition are January 8 through February 18, 2007, after
which it is intended that the exhibit will then travel through 2008.
Open to all artists worldwide over the age of 18. Entries must be
original fine art prints in any printmaking media, including artist
books. No photography or offset photo mechanically reproduced work
will be accepted. Entries should not exceed 44 inches in paper
dimension. Selections will be made from a review of 35 mm slides or
digital images in the form of jpeg files (maximum dimension of eight
inches in image size bcharged. Up to $5,000 in awards will be
presented and sales will be encouraged. Artists may submit up to
five (5) images of original works completed in the last three years.
