PROGRAM
: Offering 14 free studio spaces
in New York to visual artists 21 years
and older. Studios are available after June 1 for a period of up to a
year. They are nonliving spaces for the making of new works of art.
ELIGIBILITY :
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent U.S. residents and NOT in
school at the time of residency.

U.S./JAPAN CREATIVE
ARTISTS' PROGRAM
PROGRAM : A
partnership of the NEA and the Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission (JUSFC),
allows American artists to live and work in Japan for six months.
Artists from the visual, media, performing, literary, and design arts
are encouraged to apply through a sponsoring not-for-profit
organization. Grants normally will be awarded at Commission meetings
held in April and September. Deadlines for receipt of proposals at the
Commission뭩 Washington office are 5 PM March 1 and August 1
respectively. If March 1 or August 1 falls on a weekend, the deadline
for receipt of hard copy will be the following Monday. Proposals
received after these dates will be retained in the Commission office for
review in the next cycle. Please see Web site for details.

PRINTMAKING FELLOWSHIP
PROGRAM, KALA ART INSTITUTE
PROGRAM : The Kala
Art Institute뭩 Printmaking Fellowship Program offers professional
facilities, tools, and equipment to artists. All artists working in the
realms of printmaking, book arts, electronic/digital media (video,
sound, animation, etc.) and installation art are encouraged to apply.
Selected artists receive a $2,500 stipend and a free six-month
residency at Kala. Following the residency, each Fellow will be featured in a
group exhibition in the Kala gallery.
